Adding, editing, and repeating forecast items
Everything a forecast item holds: name, amount, category, classification, due date, and recurrence.
A forecast item is one planned movement of money for the month. It can be income, an expense, or a transfer.
Creating an item
- 1On the Forecast page, tap Add Item.
- 2Set the name and amount.
- 3Pick a category from Seed's 12 categories.
- 4Set the classification: income, expense, or transfer.
- 5Set the due date.
- 6Set Repeat to Never, Monthly, or Yearly.
Progress bars
Each item shows a progress bar. For an expense it fills with what you have spent, for income it fills with what you have earned. The bar only moves when a real transaction is matched to that item.
Editing a recurring item
When you change a field that can propagate, such as the amount or the name, Seed asks whether the change applies to this month only or to the whole series. Fields that only make sense for a single month do not prompt.
Attach the bill itself
A forecast item can hold an invoice. Seed reads it and extracts vendor, dates, line items, tax, and total. See Attaching invoices to forecast items.
