Reading your portfolio graph and P/L
Why Seed's year-to-date number can differ from your brokerage's, and what Since a date in the header means.
The Invest tab graph and the P/L YTD figure cover only the days Seed has actually observed your portfolio. Daily tracking starts when you link the account.
Why your brokerage shows a different number
Your brokerage watched the whole year. Seed measures from its first tracked day. History from before you linked is not shown, and is not invented. When the data starts mid-period, the header says Since a date rather than Past 1 Year, so you always know what window you are looking at.
The holding detail screen
- A Position graph showing that holding's value over time, building forward daily from when tracking starts.
- A Details tab.
- A News tab.
- A History tab.

Connecting investment accounts
Brokerages link through the same Plaid flow as banks, and holdings then feed the Invest tab and your net worth.
Why a losing position shows under Liabilities
It is not a bug. Seed classifies holdings by gain and loss so a position that is underwater reduces net worth honestly.
