Monthly breakdown reports explained

The Insights page has a Past and Future toggle. Past explains what happened, Future warns you about what is coming.

Insights has one toggle at the top: Past or Future. They answer two different questions.

Future

Future helps you plan what is coming so you can act before a problem happens. It can include a cashflow forecast chart, an income against expense summary, a fixed against variable split, overdraft warnings, and your upcoming forecast items.

Past

Past helps you understand what already happened, so you can spot patterns and plan a better next month. The past is proof of how you behave with money, not a scorecard to feel bad about.

Fixed against variable

  • A forecast expense marked recurring counts as fixed.
  • A non-recurring expense counts as variable.
  • Both percentages are shown relative to income.
  • Transfers, savings, and investments are neutral money movement and are excluded from the split, so moving money to savings never looks like spending.

Overdraft warnings

An overdraft warning appears when Seed projects that upcoming bills, spending, or forecast items could push an account below zero or below a safe threshold. It is a prompt to move money now, before the auto-debit lands.
