Using AI Auto-Assign

One tap proposes a forecast match for every unassigned transaction this month. Nothing is applied until you confirm, and it learns from every correction.

At the top of the New Transactions area there is an AI Auto-Assign card with a sparkles icon. Tap it and Seed proposes a match for every unassigned transaction in the month, each with a short reason and a confidence level.

Reviewing proposals

  • Proposals are sorted by confidence, strongest first.
  • Low-confidence guesses start deselected, so a quick confirm only applies the solid matches.
  • Tap any row to include or exclude it.
  • Tap the proposed item name to send the transaction to a different forecast item instead.
  • Nothing is assigned until you confirm.

How it learns

  • Accepting a proposal builds a habit for that merchant.
  • Rejecting a proposal, or unassigning a transaction later, teaches Seed never to repeat that pairing.
  • Correcting the target to a different forecast item is the strongest signal of all.
  • It recognises repeat spending even when merchant names vary, by comparing against your own past assignments, and it knows which merchants behave like recurring bills.

Transfers are handled separately

Auto-Assign knows the difference between spending and money moving between your own accounts. A detected transfer goes to the transfer item, never to Miscellaneous. A transfer that is a payment toward a credit card or loan is proposed to the matching debt item when one exists. If no transfer item exists for the month, the transfer is left for manual matching on the Transfers page.

The nudge

When a bank sync leaves five or more transactions unassigned, Seed may send one reminder a day inviting you to clear them with Auto-Assign. You can turn that off in notification preferences.
