Pending transactions explained

Pending means the bank has seen the charge but has not finalised it. Amounts, merchants, and dates can all still change.

The Pending Transactions screen lists everything that has not fully posted. It is worth reviewing before making a firm decision from your balance.

  • Pending amounts, merchants, and dates can change before posting. A restaurant hold that later includes a tip is the classic example.
  • A pending transaction may disappear, update, or be replaced by the final posted version.
  • Posted transactions are the reliable ones for final tracking.

Seed can send an alert when a pending charge changes after it settles, so a hold that posts at a different amount does not slip past you.
