How to connect your bank accounts
Seed links banks and brokerages through Plaid. Here is where to start the flow, what syncs afterwards, and what to do when a bank stops reporting.
Accounts are linked through Plaid, the same connection layer used by most major finance apps. Seed never sees or stores your bank username or password.
Linking an account
- 1Open the Overview page.
- 2Start the add / link account flow.
- 3Search for your financial institution and sign in through Plaid's secure screen.
- 4Pick which accounts to share with Seed.
Investment and brokerage accounts link through the same flow whenever your institution supports them. Once linked, balances and transactions sync automatically and feed the rest of Seed: forecasts, transaction matching, net worth, Insights, and alerts.
If an account stops syncing
Bank connections expire, and some institutions require you to re-authorise periodically. When that happens, reconnect the account from the Accounts area. Nothing you have already recorded is lost while a connection is down.
Missing statement or due dates?
Not every bank reports a card's statement date, payment due date, minimum payment, or credit limit. When they are missing you can add them yourself. See Adding a billing cycle.

Why Seed never sees your bank password
Bank sign-in happens inside Plaid, not inside Seed, and the resulting connection is read-only.
